The mechanical and physical properties of metal matrix composites (MMCs) were intensively investigated during the past decade. Composite materials having high stiffness, better damping capacity and mechanical properties are extremely desirable in automobile, aerospace, construction and other industries where structural elements are exposed to dynamic loads. Thus it is necessary to develop such metal matrix composites (MMCs) which can fulfil the above requirements. Friction stir processing (FSP) is one of the advanced technologies which is in use these days for refining the microstructural mechanical properties of the various alloys and MMCs.
