Prof. Sanjeev Kumar received his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from IIT Roorkee in 2008. Subsequently, he joined the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Udine, Italy as a postdoctoral fellow. Prof. Kumar started his teaching career at the Department of Mathematics, IIT Roorkee in November 2010. He is also affiliated with Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIT Roorkee as a joint faculty. Currently he is working as a full professor at IIT Roorkee. Prof. Kumar has been actively engaged in research in the area of computational methods for inverse problems, image processing, and machine learning. He has published more than 70 research papers in several reputed journals and conferences. He has also carried out several sponsored research projects funded by DST, SERB, MeiTy, ISRO and Industries. He has supervised 8 PhD and more than 25 Master thesis at IIT Roorkee. As a teacher, Prof. Kumar has been teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is also involved in developing online courses for National Program for Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) of MHRD, Govt. of India. He is a recipient of Outstanding teacher’s award at IIT Roorkee for his contributions to undergraduate teaching.
